Wednesday night was Pourtal Wine’s Woof Wine Yappy Hour. The turn out was fabulous and it was amazing to see all the canines getting along as their owners were sipping wine. There must have been between 10 and 15 dogs with their owners.
What made the event special was that the Paula Crane organized a Meetup.com – Chihuahua Small Dogs, Westside and Beach Areas event. At least half the people attending the Yappy hour were part of this group. This group was originally formed for people wanting to socialize with other dog lovers. Doggies playing together having play dates while their owners share ideas & experiences. The group is always searching for new dog-friendly places and helping local Rescues and Shelters. They found the perfect place on Wednesday when they discovered Pourtal Wine Tasting Bar and their Wine Woof Wednesday Yappy Hour.
All dogs enjoyed free treats from Dogswell and many people enjoyed a Palisades Park walk with Brendon from Big Sky Dogs.
Stephen Abronson served some of us 4 wines; A Viognier from Cold Heaven, which was light and fruity making it a wonderful summer wine, Peay Syrah from Sonoma Coast; Melville, a full bodied 2008 Syrah from Verna’s Vineyard and Ijalba Graciano, a Rioja from which was a very smooth wine made from 100% Graciano grapes.
Mark your calendars for the next Wine Woof Wednesday Yappy Hour. It will be help on July 7th.
