So what's all the buzz with pet spas and pet hotels? Society has dramatically changed the way it treats its pets. There has been an explosion in the pampered pet care industry where dogs and cats are cared for, pampered and entertained. It's the fastest growing segment of the multi-billion dollar pet care industry.

There are several reasons for the explosion in pampered pet care, starting with the sheer numbers of pets. The Humane Society of the U.S. reports that there are approximately 78.2 million owned dogs and 86.4 million owned cats in the United States. Thirty-nine percent of U.S. households own at least one dog, 33 percent own at least one cat, 28 percent have two dogs, and 52 percent own more than one cat. With these mega numbers, it's no surprise that money spent on pet care is skyrocketing.

Pet spas run the gamut of service, from simple grooming and exercise facilities to extravagant retreats. Dog daycare services usually provide your dog with plenty of exercise, love, and attention during their stay while you are busy with your day. Some pet daycare facilities offer long morning walks, exercise in play yards with other dogs, lunch time snacks, nap times, afternoon walks and even cuddling sessions.
