Animal lovers will agree that pets enrich our lives in many ways. For older adults especially, dogs provide reasons to get up in the morning and reasons to get out of the house. The Sacramento SPCA (SSPCA) will present the first annual Paws, Pals and Putts Golf Tournament to benefit the SSPCA Senior Services Program this coming Monday, April 26, 2010.
The event, presented by Hank Fisher Properties, will be held at the Del Paso Country Club. The Paws, Pals and Putts Golf Tournament will consist of an 18-hole golf scramble, an awards dinner and both live and silent auctions. The cost is $250 per player and $1,000 for a four-person team. Another option is the “Mulligan Package” for $50: two mulligans, five closest-to-the-hole contests, a putting contest and longest drive contest. There will also be a “Helicopter Ball Drop raffle”. Participants can purchase a raffle ball for $25 or five for $100 and potentially win up to $10,000. The event is sold out but you can see the schedule and list of sponsors at http://www.sspca.org/Golf.html. Be sure to check back for information about next year’s tournament.
The SPCA Senior Services program “provides services to ensure the continued relationship between local area seniors and their pets”. For more information about the SSPCA and the many programs they offer, please visit their website at http://www.sspca.org/index.html.
