Southeast German Shepard Rescue will be attending the 33rd Annual Walk for the Animals on Sunday, October 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Virginia Beach, VA .This rescue group based outside the Raleigh area will travel to Virginia to participate in the event for VA SPCA. Come out and join us for the regions oldest and largest animal welfare walk that will benefit the VA Beach SPCA.

Schedule of Events:
Neptune's Park - 31st Street at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

11:30 - Registration and vendor fair open
11:45 - Demonstrations and games begin
12:00 - 12:45 - Costume contests for children and pets, pet trick contest
12:55 - Blessing of the Animals
1:00 - Walk for the Animals one-mile pledge walk departs heading north on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk
1:30 - Demonstrations and Games continue

$25 Adults / $10 Youth & Teens

Registration fees count toward fundraising total (Registration includes commemorative t-shirt, vegan lunch provided by PETA, goody bag for first 400 checked in, and all Walk activities)

Bring your friends, family and pets to the Oceanfront to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities, contests, vendors, adoptable animals and the one-mile "pack" walk down the Boardwalk.


Saturday, October 29 · 11:00am - 4:00pm

Southeast German Shepherd Rescue is also participating in the 2nd annual Canine Carnival in Chesterfield, VA. Several of their dogs will be there to greet you. The event will offer games, activities and treats for people and dogs.

Dog owners are invited to enter their pups in a Halloween costume contest. Judging will occur during three sessions (one entry per canine.) There will be music, food, pet-product vendors, rescue groups, and many dogs available for adoption.

The Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, the Chesterfield County Humane Society, the Richmond Animal League, and other local animal-rescue groups will bring plenty of adoptable dogs that are in need of a home. The CEA is also donating to the county animal shelter with proceeds from the carnival.

Mark your calendars for this event at the county fairgrounds, 10300 Courthouse Road. Admission is $5 per person, and children 12 and younger are admitted free. For details or questions, please call 804-768-7550.
