Sick puppy left in a shoebox found abandoned in Louisville park

This very sick puppy was found inside of a taped shoebox and left to die in a downtown Louisville park.

A helpless, extremely sick five-week-old puppy was discovered Saturday afternoon in the downtown Louisville, Ky. area of Boones Park. The tiny black pooch was dumped at the park and left to die in a shoebox.

According to the Arrow Fund, the puppy has been transported to BluePearl-Kentucky Veterinarians where the puppy is being treated and tested.

When the shoebox was opened, the puppy was covered with feces, urine, and fleas. He is dehydrated and lethargic. The box had been taped shut with just one punched hole for the puppy to breathe.

The Kentucky based Arrow Fund is a non-profit organization whose commitment is to provide medical treatment to animals who are victims of extreme torture, abuse, and neglect. The group also concentrates on finding the people responsible for abuse and neglect.

Donations towards the medical fund for this defenseless puppy can be made by clicking here.

The puppy's progress will be updated on the Arrow Fund's Facebook. Click here to "like" the page.

Let's hope this little one recovers, and the person who dropped this puppy off to languish in pain and misery is caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
