Montgomery, AL - A 19 yr-old armed robbery suspect attempted to flee after robbing a Title Cash business this afternoon.
The suspect did not get far after a K9 unit with the Montgomery Police Department was brought in and German shepherd "Bodi" caught his scent.
The K9 located the teen in a shed not far from the crime scene.
Bodi latched onto the suspect. The teen struggled with the dog and proceeded to shoot him several times, including once in the face.
Despite the gunfire and injuries, Bodi did not let go of the suspect - doing his job to protect his handler.
The suspect received a non life-threatening wound in the exchange and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Bodi is expected to survive, but may lose an eye as a result of his injuries.
Please keep Bodi in your thoughts as he fights to overcome his injuries from today's violent exchange.
