Grand opening of Homeward Bound Adoption Center, Freehold Raceway Mall, April 26
There are many kittens available for adoption through the Monmouth County SPCA. Come to the Homeward Bound Adoption Center to meet them.

The Monmouth County SPCA is making history. On Thursday, April 26 they plan to open the Homeward Bound Adoption Center in Freehold Raceway Mall. The celebration starts at 10 a.m. on the lower level of the mall adjacent to Sears.

“With our new Homeward Bound Adoption Center opening in the Freehold mall, our goal of extending our outreach in western Monmouth County is finally being realized,” said Lisa Mulhearn, MCSPCA representative. “Our staff and some special guests will be there to greet visitors during the Grand Opening, and we are excited to showcase our adoptable pets at this brand new location.”

There will be giveaways as part of the celebration, and pet supplies will be available for purchase in the new “Woofs’n Whiskers Boutique.”

You can talk to the MCSPCA representatives about adoption procedures and submit an application if you find the new pet of your dreams there. Adoptable cats and dogs will be available.

This new adoption center located in the mall was made possible by the Macerich Company. They announced last year that they would be banning the sale of live animals in more than 70 malls across the country.

Just like the Eatontown location, the Homeward Bound Adoption Center will serve as a resource to educate the public on puppy mill awareness, the importance of spaying and neutering your pets, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs.

“All of the same MCSPCA processes and procedures will be followed at the mall location. The mall team will be trained at the Eatontown facility,” said Mulhearn. “The store will have veterinary technicians on every shift, and the MCSPCA worked on establishing relationships with veterinarians and veterinary practices that are closer to the Freehold area for immediate care of any animals in need.”

You can find the Homeward Bound Adoption Center in the Freehold Raceway Mall located at 3710 Route 9, Freehold, NJ 07728 Telephone: 732-577-1144

Initially, the adoption center will be open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–9:30 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

The Monmouth County SPCA is located at 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 Telephone: 732-542-0040

The MCSPCA in Eatontown is open seven days a week, Monday-Friday, 1–5 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 12–5 p.m.
