Las Vegas - Six months ago, two gorgeous German shepherds were found wandering through a man's employer's property.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous. placed flyers up in the area with the hopes that the dogs' owner would be located. An owner never came forward, but a local independent rescuer did contact the man with an offer of assistance.

At the time that the rescuer initially contacted the man, he had plans to take both dogs to an area "kill shelter".

The man was talked out of his initial plans and the local rescuer helped make arrangements to get both dogs fully vetted, including altering, shots and microchips.

The man decided that he wanted to keep Duke, but find another home for the female shepherd, Angel.

Two weeks ago, the man contacted the rescuer and told her that he was moving out of the area on April 15 and now he wanted both dogs to find a new home - even Duke, the one that he claimed to have wanted initially.

The local rescuer is currently full at her house with foster dogs and her local German shepherd rescue contact is also at capacity due to a shortage of open foster homes.

Though Angel and Duke are not at risk of being killed, the rescuer needs some assistance in either locating an adopter for them, or with finding a foster home who can care for them until a permanent home is located.

In addition to being fully vetted, the following descriptions have been provided:

Angel is a sweet mellow girl who likes car rides, walks and hanging out watching TV. Duke loves riding on the golf cart, car rides, walks and playing fetch.

Angel does need a home that does not include cats however.

Note: The beautiful black/tan shepherd (Rex) who was listed in yesterday's "Urgent" story is out of the shelter and safe.
