The Humane Society of Sarasota County announces last call to get your pet‘s picture into “The Real HousePets of Sarasota County” calendar competition. The winner is the 2015 calendar cover girl or boy and 100 more pets will be featured in the big annual collage.
The shelter’s annual fundraiser calendar helps fund the no-kill shelter continue their work from the site at 2331 – 15th Street in Sarasota … from which they have served and grown with the county since they first incorporated in 1952.
Lots of changes have happened since then, but two things never change
- 1 – People love pictures of pets
- 2 – pretty much everybody needs to keep track of what day it is and what’s on their schedule that day. Thus the hugely successful “Real HousePets of Sarasota County” calendar. Be a part of it in 2015!
They still need to raise a little more than half of their $15,000.00 goal, so get on it, pet parents!
Here are the specifics.
Humane Society of Sarasota County is Searching for Next Four-Legged Calendar Cover Model
“We introduced this contest two years ago and over 500 animal lovers have participated – raising over $25,000 to date for our shelter pets!” said Kristi Dorman, Executive Director of HSSC. “We are very thankful for the community’s support and hope to see even more pets participate this year. It’s a fun way to support HSSC and all proceeds benefit our four-legged friends!”
To enter the contest, participants must submit their favorite pet photo with a $10 donation to HSSC.
To win prizes and the chance to call their pet a cover model, participants should encourage their friends and family to vote online for their pet’s photo. Votes are just $1 each and the number of votes will determine the winners. The top 100 pets receiving the most votes will appear on the collage page of the calendar.
The pet photo contest ends on Friday, October 10th and the winners will be announced by Monday, October 13th.
“The Real HousePets of Sarasota County” 2015 Calendar will be available for purchase in November at the Humane Society of Sarasota County. All proceeds from the contest and calendar sales will benefit the homeless pets at HSSC.
The Humane Society of Sarasota County is the area’s largest no-kill shelter and relies solely on private donations, bequests and community support to continue its mission to provide abandoned pets with compassionate care and shelter while promoting responsible pet ownership and securing permanent homes.
