Enter your pet in the MHS 'Pet of the Year' online photo contest
Last year’s winner was Daisy, photographed by Steve Grunwald. Daisy charmed voters, raising $3,699 to help animals at MHS.

The second annual Michigan Humane Society (MHS) pet photo contest is underway and runs through Wednesday, Feb. 29. The contest is a great way for proud pet owners to show off their best photos and help change the lives of animals in need.

Last year, this contest helped raise enough funds to transform the lives of nearly 150 animals. How? Each photo submission must be accompanied by a $20 contest entry fee and votes are counted based on donations made. The pet with the most money raised will be named MHS’ Pet of the Year. In addition, they will have their photo prominently featured on the MHS website, they will receive a special ‘pet of the month’ placement in the MHS 2013 Pet Calendar; two tickets to MHS’ 2012 Bow Wow Brunch (April) and they will receive an MHS Prize Pack.

Contest participants can use MHS’ easy-to-use online tools to create their own web page, including their pet’s photo and reasons why they should be voted ‘Pet of the Year.’ Links to their page can then be emailed to friends and family who can support their campaign by voting with a donation. For contest details or to get started, visit www.michiganhumane.org/photocontest.

Additionally, all pets whose campaign raises at least $312 will have their photo featured online in the “MHS 2012 Honor Roll" and receive a free MHS T-shirt!
