Mike Bizelli is a St. Louis Mo. based photographer who works with many Fortune 500 companies. Bizelli’s love of photography has also blended with his love of animals. He has worked with the Humane Society of Mo. for nearly 15 years, capturing behind the scenes photos of the animals they rescue. According to a Facebook post on Team Trooper’s page, dated April 1, 2013, these photos will be on display April 5-7, 2013 at the HSMO.
Mike Bizelli’s photograph series, entitled “Cruelty to Compassion,” tells the story of dogs as they go from abused to rescued to loving, healthy animals. This weekend, April 5-7, the general public will be able to see these photographic tributes at a showing at the Humane Society Headquarters, located at 1201 Macklind Ave in St. Louis Mo. The photos are being shown as a tribute to the staff, volunteers and animals of the HSMO.
Trooper, a young pit bull puppy, and the subject of many of Bizello’s photographs will put in an appearance at the event. Trooper made headlines nearly a year ago in the local St. Louis, Mo. area when he was dragged behind a pickup truck for more than a mile on Interstate 55. The HSMO rescued Trooper who was severely injured. Some thought the 5-month-old pit bull would not recover.
Mike Bizelli has documented Troopers road to recovery with sometimes sad and sometimes beautiful photographs that will be on display in the “Cruelty to Compassion” show. Show hours are Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
