A Cleveland teen who posted a disturbing video on Facebook is being investigated by the Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL) and the Cleveland Police Department, according to WKYC on Monday.
The video shows the teen holding a small black cat by the neck. Because, he says, the cat ate his dog’s food, he then chokes the cat and tosses her across the street.
Searching the neighborhood, humane officers believe they found the cat in the video: a small cat with a scuffed up nose. Now named Claryssa, she is currently being cared for at the Cleveland APL.
The APL says it received numerous calls on the video, both locally and from around the country. Live Leak posted the video. Warning, video may be disturbing to some viewers.
Claryssa should be available for adoption following the investigation. As for whether the juvenile will be charged, APL CEO Sharon Harvey told newsnet5 "We are now checking our findings with CPD's Bureau of Detectives who are also looking into this and when we put everything together we will be figuring out what our next steps will be based on the evidence and where that takes us."
