Atlanta's Exotic Bird Fair at North Atlanta Trade Center April 30 & May 1, 2011
Blue-green Macaw

Thinking about getting a macaw now that you’ve seen Rio? Atlanta's Exotic Bird Fair is billed as the best show in Georgia to buy hand-raised exotic birds, including cockatiels, conures, eclectuses, canaries, finches, parrotlets and others directly from the breeder.

The show returns to the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross this weekend.

This is the place to come for cages; the show claims to have "the best price and variety in the Southeast." There will be about 45 vendors and bird experts with paraphernalia for feathered friends – nutritional supplements, medicines, nesting boxes and supplies, toys and quality feed at wholesale prices.

On Saturday, an avian veterinarian will inspect birds from out of state to ensure that they are healthy.

Atlanta's Exotic Bird Fair will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and children 13+, and children 12 and under are free. You can download a $1 coupon at http://northatlantatradecenter.com/bird.html. Tickets are good all weekend. Parking is free.

The North Atlanta Trade Center is located at 1700 Jeurgens Court, Norcross. For more information, call 770-279-9899.
