529 pets adopted from Kern County ACD in the first third of the $100K Challenge
Update on Kern County Animal Control's participation in the $100K Challenge

Kern County Animal Control is going strong with their adoption programs in the three month ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The challenge runs from August through October. And at the end of August, Kern County ACD clocked in with a wonderful 529 pets adopted.

The cumulative total of the 50 participants in this challenge is 17,425 pets adopted for August, or an average of 349 pets per participating organization. Of course, the challenge isn't against the other participants, the challenge is to exceed the organization's own numbers for the same month last year.

You can help! If you have been considering adopting a pet, check out the "Fabulous Friday's"event that Kern County ACD holds every Friday during the $100K Challenge! For $5 you can adopt an eligible pet, and that $5 includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and more.
